We manage sustainability through understanding and managing the risks within different goods, services and works that we procure.
A risk assessment by procurement category has been completed in collaboration with buyers of category such as clothing, EM&I equipment, reinstatement, construction materials, grounds maintenance, etc.
This assessment is mainly a formalisation of risk work that was already being completed throughout the purchasing and supply chain teams, however, it is useful to maintain the risk database.
We will use the risk assessment to determine high-risk categories for which we might want to take additional measure such as:
- asking more detailed supplier selection questions in high-risk areas
- mapping the supply chain
- undertaking supplier audits.
